About

Hi and welcome to my blog! My name is Kim Kruzich, and I am a designer, teacher and author. I founded my business, Retro Mama, in 2006 and specialize in creating cheery, easy-to-stitch sewing patterns. My work has been published in the book Zakka Style (C&T Publishing) and Make It Yourself magazine, and has been featured in Mollie Makes, Crafts Beautiful, and Australian Homespun. My book, Sweet and Simple Scrap Sewing, will be published in April 2015 by David & Charles.

I live in Indiana with my two sons, husband, and four rescue dogs. My business originally started as a midnight insomniac’s hobby with a little sewing machine that my mom bought for me with Betty Crocker points. I made aprons as Christmas gifts one year, and from that moment on I was hooked! Since then I have been designing pincushions, soft toys, kitchen goods, and accessories. Additionally, I now sell beautiful wool-blend felt, which I use in my own sewing and craft-making.
