About

Hi! I'm Kim Kruzich, a self-taught sewing pattern designer and book author living in sunny Central Florida. I have been writing easy-to-follow sewing patterns for 10 years and it is my great joy to teach stitchers of all skill levels to make beautiful—and functional—projects!

My sewing pattern-writing journey began with a little Brother sewing machine that my mom bought for me using Betty Crocker points, which initially I only used to fix clothes and linens. Then one Christmas I decided I wanted to sew up some vintage style aprons for my friends and family, and though it was a struggle to muddle through that long and confusing pattern with scant diagrams, my love for sewing was ignited.

I began designing my own patterns to sell finished goods in my Etsy shop in 2006, and quickly realized that I could reach more people by selling the patterns themselves. I have since sold over 20,000 patterns through various platforms and published a book of sewing projects, Retro Mama Scrap Happy Sewing.

When I'm not digging for precious bits of favorite fabrics in my scrap bin or scouring the internet for vintage buttons, I love spending time outdoors and birdwatching with my husband and two sons.

Let's connect! You can find my sewing patterns at my Etsy shop, updates and inspiration on Instagram, or email if you have questions about my patterns or would like to work with me.

Happy Stitching!
Kim
